Hello, dear parents and little sister Tanya!
I have a free minute now and decided to write to you. I have not had letters from you for a long time[?]. True, I myself have not written for a long time, because I was busy all the while, and even now there is no time. You have probably learned from Sovinformburo[?] reports that from our parts the enemy is falling back west. That gives me a surge of desire to fight[?].
I am living well. Everything[?] is our headquarters now, so I cannot report failures in action.
Well, that is all I have. Write if you can. I await your letters.

Здравствуйте дорогие
родители и сестрёнка
Таня!
Вот у меня сейчас есть минута
свободного времени и я решил
написать вам письмо. От вас я
давно не получал писем
прежних[?]. Правда, и сам я давно
не писал, т.к. был все время
занят, да и сейчас времени нет.
Вы наверное знаете из сообщений
Совинформбюро[?], что с наших мест
враг отходит на запад.
Это вызывает прилив желания у
меня воевать[?].
Живу я хорошо. Все[?] сейчас
наш штаб и поэтому в действиях,
неудач не могу доложить.
Ну вот у меня и все.
Пишите, если можете.
Жду от вас писем.
