Period
Pre-war years and the start of the war — from the childhood/school chapters and “School and war.”
In the narrative: end of 7th form, move to 8th; 22 June 1941 — announcement of war (family at the radio).
Then school in evacuation and return to a Moscow class (including classmate Sasha Krivoshein).
We do not force every exam into a false calendar.
