Cover: “Our genealogy: the Samsonovs.”.
What it is
A family notebook on squared paper.
Tatyana Timofeevna Krivosheina writes in her own name: “my mother,” “my father,” “we were taken for walks.”
Inside:
- Genealogical charts with pasted photographs.
- Continuous narrative — mother’s life, childhood, Moscow, war, father’s character.
- Inserts — documents, newspapers, verses, lists.
How to read on the site
An initial transcription of the first portion (79 notebook pages) is published and split into chapters — see the diary contents. The archive is not closed: more pages are expected, and the transcription may be refined against the originals.
What you mostly see here is an exact transcription (author’s sequence and sense, not a literary rewrite). Where possible, a photograph of the page is shown alongside. A separate “easy-reading” version is added only where needed and never replaces the transcription.
Marks:
[?]or[illegible]— could not be read with confidence;[presumably: …]— a likely reading;- editorial notes and image captions are kept separate from the author’s voice.
Dates sometimes disagree inside the notebook — check against documents. Genealogical charts are a source, not infallible: disagreements with the memoir text are not hidden.
Source: manuscript “Our genealogy: the Samsonovs” (photographs of the notebook pages).
