Place
The Hotel Metropol in central Moscow was used in the early Soviet years as the 1st House of Soviets — housing for senior staff.
Per Tatyana Timofeevna’s manuscript: after a brief stay on Brestskaya Street the family was told to live in the 1st House of Soviets (Hotel Metropol). Later the hotel was cleared of residents; the family moved to Maly Vlasyevsky, then Vozdvizhenka.
Hotel Metropol
Why it appears here
- early marriage of T. P. Samsonov and Eva Konstantinovna;
- stepmother’s first meeting with Lelya (daughter from the father’s first marriage);
- nearby in time — births of Timofey (1923) and Tatyana (1926);
- a link in the housing chain: Metropol → Arbat → Vozdvizhenka → Serafimovich Street.
